Crobalt® was a major producer of Cast Cobalt Base Cutting Tools and Wear Materials for approximately 45 years. Crobalt®was established in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1919. The company was privately owned until a death in the family led to its dissolution in 1973. Illinois Carbide Tool Company then purchased the company along with their equipment, manufacturing technology, product formulations, specifications and a great deal of customer and end-product information.
Excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance,coupled with good wear resistance, make Crobalt® effective in a variety of special cutting tool environments.
